【犯罪】Netflixの元社員が米国でインサイダー取引、犯人は全員韓国人か 韓国ネット「韓国のイメージがどんどん悪くなる」
Netflixの元ソフトウェアエンジニアである主犯格の3人は2016～2019年の間、Netflixの加入者情報を公式発表前に入手して株取引に利用し、300万ドル（約3億3000万円）の利益を得ていた。3人は兄弟や友人の関係で、暗号化された対話アプリを介して情報や金の受け渡しを行っていたという。
米証券取引委員会は、3人の名前が「Sung Mo Jun（チョン・ソンモ）」「Joon Mo Jun（チョン・ジュンモ）、「Junwoo Chon（チョン・ジュヌ）」であると発表している。また3人は2017年に同社を退社した後も現社員の仲間からの情報を得ていたことが分かっているが、共犯者の2人も「Lee（イ）」と「Bae（ペ）」という韓国系の姓を持つ人物とのこと。

米証券取引委員会（SEC）は2日、ネットフリックスの元ソフトウェア・エンジニア3人とその関係者2人が、同社の加入者数増加に関する内部情報を利用した数百万ドル規模のインサイダー取引で起訴されたと発表しました。スキームの中心にSung Mo “Jay” Jun氏を指名した訴状によると、犯人とされるグループは、2016年から2019年にかけて、暗号化されたメッセージングアプリケーションを通じて機密情報を共有し、300万ドル以上の利益を得ていました。このグループは、13の決算発表に先立って取引を行ったとされています。
2016年7月から2017年4月にかけて、ソンモ・ジュンは、弟のジュンモ・ジュンと親友のチョン・ジュンウに情報を伝えたとされています。彼らは、Netflixの決算発表前に取引を行い、チョンはその利益からソンモジュンに6万ドルを支払ったとされています。
2017年に会社を辞めた後も、ソンモジュンはインサイダーのAyden Leeから情報を得ていた。また、NetflixのエンジニアであるJae Hyeon Baeは、Netflixの2019年7月の決算発表を前に、Joon Junを密告したとされています。
ペは2018年2月、人気のビジネスコミュニケーションプラットフォームで開催された「Rage Against the Market」というメッセージングチャンネルに参加したとされています。そこには、ソンモジュン、ジュンジュン、チョンが含まれていました。訴状によると、ペ氏は「証券取引で儲けるための情報」を得ることを望んでいたという。
Netflix社の株価は水曜日にほぼ横ばいで終了しました。

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced insider trading charges against three former Netflix Inc. software engineers and two close associates who generated over $3 million in total profits by trading on confidential information about Netflix’s subscriber growth.
According to the SEC’s complaint, Sung Mo “Jay” Jun was at the center of a long-running scheme to illegally trade on non-public information concerning the growth in Netflix’s subscriber base, a key metric Netflix reported in its quarterly earnings announcements. The complaint alleges that Sung Mo Jun, while employed at Netflix in 2016 and 2017, repeatedly tipped this information to his brother, Joon Mo Jun, and his close friend, Junwoo Chon, who both used it to trade in advance of multiple Netflix earnings announcements.
The SEC’s complaint further alleges that after Sung Mo Jun left Netflix in 2017, he obtained confidential Netflix subscriber growth information from another Netflix insider, Ayden Lee. Sung Mo Jun allegedly traded himself and tipped Joon Jun and Chon in advance of Netflix earnings announcements from 2017 to 2019. The SEC alleges that Sung Mo Jun’s former Netflix colleague Jae Hyeon Bae, another Netflix engineer, tipped Joon Jun based on Netflix’s subscriber growth information in advance of Netflix’s July 2019 earnings announcement

10. Sung Mo “Jay” Jun, 49 years old, resides in Bellevue, Washington. Sung Mo Jun was employed as a software engineer at Netflix from December 2013 through February 2017. After leaving Netflix, until late 2018, he was employed by a large technology company outside the United States. From approximately 2019 to 2020, Sung Mo Jun was a senior software engineer at a Seattle-area technology company.
11. Joon Mo Jun, 45 years old, resides in Issaquah, Washington. Joon Jun and Sung Mo Jun are brothers.
12. Junwoo Chon, 49 years old, resides in Bellevue, Washington. Chon is a close friend of Sung Mo Jun, and the two have known each other for approximately 20 years.
13. Ayden Lee, 33 years old, resides in San Jose, California. From May 2016 to approximately February 2021, Lee was a software engineer at Netflix. Lee met Sung Mo Jun when interviewing for his position at Netflix and worked with him from May 2016 through February 2017. Lee considered Sung Mo Jun a mentor in their work at Netflix.
14. Jae Hyeon Bae, 42 years old, resides in San Jose, California. Bae worked at Netflix as a software and data engineer during two periods: first between July 2012 and April 2015 and again from June 2017 through July 2019. Bae became friends with Sung Mo Jun during his first period working at Netflix and the two worked in the same group.
